Tiger Woods avoids near run-in with boo birds at Quail Hollow

with 3 comments

Tiger Woods’ Tuesday practice round dominated the headlines at Quail Hollow earlier today. But all that could have changed if Tiger had decided to screw some autograph seekers after his morning round.

PGATour.com’s Brian Wacker was on hand for the practice round. As Woods walked towards the locker room after his round, he momentarily forgot (I say this because we all know the new Tiger would never pass on signing after his round … right?) to stop and scribble his name on a couple of golf flags.

That’s when things appeared to take a turn for the worst.

As Wacker mentioned in his play-by-play, “Woods was booed momentarily when it looked like he wasn’t going to stop to sign autographs, but Woods did stop and sign for a few minutes before making his way into the clubhouse.”

Booing Tiger Woods?!? How could they boo the guy? It’s not like he did anyth…oh…right, carry on. Potential disaster averted. I guess the fans are going to be a little more vocal about getting some of Tiger’s time during the early part of the week. Could the boos become commonplace for Woods from here on out? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Thursday brings.
