From the Rough

Golf without discretion

Leif Olsen goes from relative unknown to trick-shot wizard overnight

Admit it: we’ve all had our close calls with a hole-in-one. Your ball bounces twice, rolls up towards the cup, and then sits right on the edge of the hole. Or what about the time you hit the pin on the fly? The pain of being that close to the pinnacle of golfing greatest is what spurs us on to play the game time and time again.

But while you’re out there just trying to get the ball in the cup, Leif Olsen is out there doing you one better: he’s banking shots off his opponents’ ball, winning BMWs, while also getting in the national spotlight. So, yeah, Leif Olsen has us all beat this time around. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen a better hole-in-one in my life.

That shot right there rivals the great Michael Jordan/Larry Bird bank shot in the McD’s commerical. Only this time around the bank shot was for real.
